Wish Kid Austin Wold gets to be an A for a Day!

8-year-old Austin Wold loves baseball and loves the Oakland Athletics. He has been watching the team for as long as possible. All he has ever wanted was to be a part of the team and suit up with his favorite players.

Wold suffers from Hirschsprung's disease, a gastrointestinal disorder which has required him to get multiple surgeries. In July, through a partnership with Make-a-Wish and Major League Baseball, Wold was unofficially added the the A’s roster ahead of their game against the Texas Rangers.

Wold got to take batting practice with A’s star outfielder Khris Davis and chat with pitcher Liam Hendricks. "It's great that he can be with us and see what we do, see what a professional's life is all about, the way we work, practice and are passionate about baseball,” said A’s shortstop Marcus Semien.
